Woodbridge Table for Knight Kiplinger

This client spotlight about our Woodbridge Marseille console table is pretty neat - this is Knight Kiplinger's home!

Knight Kiplinger is the celebrated economic journalist who heads the Kiplinger financial media company including Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine and Kiplinger.com. He is also a book author and you have probably seen or heard him as a guest on many TV and radio shows like the Today Show, Charlie Rose, Diane Rehm Show, and CBS This Morning.

A Lovely Woodbridge Table

This is his second order with us. We guess he knows how to handle his money and make the most of every dime, so we are very happy that he decided to spend some of his hard-earned dollars with us!

His last order was for this lovely mahogany Neoclassical Woodbridge console table shown at left, our item number WB-199, for his home in Washington DC.

Woodbridge Marseille Console tableThis time he contacted me to order the elegant Marseilles console table (item WB-612, shown right) for his second home in Maryland. The console table is beautifully hand-waxed and designed with traditional French style. Made in solid wood with a rich cherry veneer, the console table features chic curving sides. The two drawers are crafted with a dovetail construction, and the console table is hand-rubbed and distressed to create an authentic-looking aged patina.  Here is a photo of the table in Knight Kiplinger's home.

Some Art to Complement the Piece

Knight Kiplinger said, "It took me this long to get around to hanging some art over it, on an 11-ft wall in the upstairs hall of our 1830 Maryland home. Lovely setting, and the table is just what we needed for displaying books and objets d'art."   I love the look of his gallery of art above the table, and the sculptures look perfect on the lower shelf.

This photo gives a better view of the table's beautiful curved silhouette, and also gives you another chance to admire the statues! Mr Kiplinger asked, "You wouldn't have, might you, an identical table, but shorter?" So now we have been working on finding him a third table! Stay tuned... we hope to bring you another perfect match.

Thank you to Knight Kiplinger for so kindly giving us a brief glimpse into his home. What can we say? We love his taste in console tables!

If you are a frequent reader of our antiques and home decor blog, you will remember that this Woodbridge Marseille console table also looked beautiful in the hallway of our customer Liz in San Francisco.
