We’ve had a glamorous month of Art Deco and Hollywood Regency style on our home decor and furniture blog. I also shared my own vintage decor tale with an update on our Bathroom Penny Tiles Project in our 1920s vintage bungalow renovation. (You’ll see a bit of glitter in there too!) Here are our favorite blog posts this month:
Our customer spotlight about this Ambella Home accent table in Nellie’s Californian home set the tone for sparkling April. The blog post shows photos of the Voronado table with its mirrored accents and gold leaf finish – it looks fab in Nellie’s handsome house!
This inspired me to explore more of the magic of mirrors in my post on Hollywood Regency style and mirrored furniture. The beauty of sleek mirrored furniture is evident, but there are also practical reasons to choose and use mirrored furniture in your home. You can create clever illusions to brighten and visually expand your space. I’ve rarely heard anyone complain about a room being TOO light and spacious!
The natural next step was to look at elegantly glossy and streamlined Art Deco furniture. My post on the Art Deco Bedroom not only showed this incredible new Ambella Home Manhattan bed that was featured in a Houzz.com editorial on Art Deco, but I also gave a sneak peek at some antique Art Deco furniture due to arrive on our next container from France.
Between our celebrations of the 1920s and 1930s, we turned our gaze back a few decades further. This antique Brittany clock looks amazing in my story on the antique French longcase clock in Loren’s home in Texas. The chestnut carved grandfather clock dates to about 1880 or 1900 and the floral brass detail around the enamel clock face suggests that it was a wedding gift. See more photos and a close up of the clock in our antique Brittany clock post.
I’ll share more photos of customers’ homes and gorgeous antiques and home decor ideas next month.
